Berthoud's First Track Meet Looks Promising

On March 7th Berthoud had its first track meet this season, and the results were positive, to say the least. Overall Berthoud came 7th out of 10th in combined team scores, but this does not tell the whole story of what happened that Friday. “Berthoud’s track team is young with only a couple of seniors in our roster,” Said Blaine Voth, the head coach of the Berthoud track team for his second time in a row. Berthoud came in second place in women's team rankings and 10th in men's.

Berthoud still had multiple first places that Friday, one of which was the 4x800 meter relay. The relay team finished at a time of 9:56.72 setting a new record for Berthoud. The Second place came in 10:16.13. Another first place for Berthoud came from Jaycee Williams(9), in the women's 32000 Meter Run. She came in 1st at 11:39.59, second place was 11:44.18. Another first-place runner is Anndee Davidson(11), who completed Women’s 300 Meter Hurdles at 51.03. The second-place finish was 53.38. Last but not least Paige Farnam(9), finished first in women's long jump, at 16-07.5. Second place finished a full foot behind Paige at 15-07.0.

Overall this track meet looks very promising for the future of the team. Now that the track meets are open to the public, I highly recommend coming to see these students compete and grow.
