Tuesday, May 18, the Berthoud Spartans played hard for their first home game of the season. The ladies took on Niwot High School here at the Max Marr stadium. The girls had a hard match to play against the Cougars and unfortunately they were mercy ruled with 16 minutes remaining in the game.
While our lady Spartans may have lost the game, they took several great shots on the goalie and kept the ball on offense the longest so far.
“I think we keep getting better and better with each game. This was the best we’ve played so far this season. We were just playing a really good team.” Senior Becca Ridout said after the game.
The most important thing about this season for the team is to get better each game. Building up an environment like this will create a victorious team for future seasons.
The Lady Spartans will be playing again this Wednesday, May 19, against North RIdge at 5:00 up in Greeley. They are hoping to continue to have an even better performance as they face up against the Northridge Grizzlies.
